About Us

     The Kerr High School instrumental Music Department is a highlight of  the many fine arts programs in the Alief Independent School District.  This program is responsible for the musical enrichment of over two hundred out of the eight hundred students enrolled at Kerr High School.  The program consists of  a jazz band, a percussion ensemble, three string orchestras, two concert bands and two full orchestras as well as numerous small ensembles.  We are proud to be the only school in Alief currently offering  full orchestra as part of the fine arts curriculum.  Students also enrich their knowledge with music theory and music history class offerings.  Our ensembles have performed throughout the United States including: Los Angeles, Orlando, New York City, San Antonio and consistently receive top honors at music festivals.  Our school has also been designated as a Grammy Foundation Signature School
